I am a warm and engaged therapist. You sit across from a therapist at the most vulnerable times of your life. I offer you warmth, space, resources and support.
I am not sure if you have seen a finger trap. It is a weaved fabric or fiber tube. After you place your fingers in either end, it can be a challenge to disengage. The more you try to pull out, the tighter you get. But, if you push your fingers in slightly, it loosens, and you can see your way out.
Similar to that, when we go into our experience, with the presence of another, life begins to open. I offer you that experience in therapy. I enable you a chance to go in to your experience so you can go through.
Often in therapy, we may welcome our own story, our own experience for the first time. In therapy we can warmly embrace, tenderly hold the difficult parts our journey. And like the finger puzzle, when we express, experience, go into our story, we move toward the freedom to engage, find meaning and the connection that we long for.
